What is Provably Fair Gaming?
Provably fair is revolutionary technology that lets you verify the fairness of every single bet using cryptographic hashing. No trust required—just mathematics.
The Simple Explanation
Before you play, the casino creates the result and "locks it" using cryptography. After you bet, you can verify the result wasn't changed. The casino can't cheat because the result was decided before you even placed your bet.
How Provably Fair Works
Server Seed (Secret)
The casino generates a random "server seed" and creates a SHA-256 hash of it. This hash is shown to you BEFORE you play. The casino can't change the seed without changing the hash.
Client Seed (Your Input)
You provide a "client seed"—a random string of characters. This ensures the casino can't predict the outcome, as they don't know your seed until you play.
Nonce (Round Counter)
A nonce (number used once) increments with each bet. This ensures every round is unique even with the same seeds.
Result Generation
The game combines the server seed, client seed, and nonce to generate a result using a cryptographic hash function. Same inputs always produce the same output.
Verification
After the round, the casino reveals the original server seed. You verify the hash matches and the result is correct.
Example: Provably Fair Dice
You can use online verifiers or the casino's built-in verification tool to check this yourself.
Why Provably Fair Matters
Traditional Casinos
- ✗You must trust the casino
- ✗No way to verify results
- ✗Rely on third-party audits
- ✗Possible manipulation
Provably Fair Casinos
- ✓Verify every bet yourself
- ✓Cryptographic proof of fairness
- ✓No trust required
- ✓Casino can't cheat
How to Verify Your Bets
Note the server seed hash shown by the casino before playing
Set your client seed (use something random and unique)
Play your bet
Click "Verify" or check bet history—the casino reveals the server seed
Check the SHA-256 hash of the revealed seed matches the original hash
Use the casino's verifier or an independent tool to confirm the result
⚠️ Important Notes
- •Third-party slots from providers like Pragmatic Play are NOT provably fair. Only casino originals (Dice, Crash, Plinko, etc.) use this technology.
- •Change your client seed regularly for maximum security.
- •Provably fair ensures fairness, but the casino still has a mathematical edge (usually 1-5%).
